Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Industrial Operations Manager to oversee Welkom facility operations in South Africa, combining on-site leadership with remote administrative tasks. You will drive productivity, safety, and cost efficiency through Lean principles, resource optimization, and KPI governance.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, implement production planning strategies, and ensure high standards of quality and safety while guiding strategic initiatives across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or related field.
• MBA or Master's in a relevant discipline is advantageous.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial operations management.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all industrial operations to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for operational improvements and cost reduction.
• Oversee production scheduling, resource allocation, and inventory management.
• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of production supervisors and operational staff.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to track operational success.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in Welkom facility.
• Collaborate with supply chain, quality control, and maintenance to ensure seamless operations.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Manage the operational budget and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and development for team members.
• Oversee maintenance and upkeep of production machinery and equipment.
