Job summary

Nouryon in Salisbury, NC is seeking a Lead Mechanic to keep plant equipment and utility systems running safely and reliably. You’ll perform preventive and demand maintenance with a focus on mechanical maintenance, welding, utilities, electrical troubleshooting, and instrumentation.

The role requires 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, TIG/GTA and stick welding skills, and a strong commitment to safety.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance and welding.
Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and instrumentation issues.
Safety-focused and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and demand maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
Work safely in a chemical plant environment and follow required procedures for safety.
Enter, update, and close preventive and demand maintenance work orders using maintenance software.
Perform welding and fabrication work: GTA/TIG welding and stick welding.
Operate maintenance and fabrication equipment (arc welders, plasma cutters, grinders, pipe threaders).
Maintain plant utility systems, including boilers, deionized water systems, and air compressors.
Assist in instrument calibration, motor replacement, and wiring tasks.
Participate in HSES activities and follow GMP requirements.
