BRT Extrusions in Niles, OH is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to diagnose and repair large industrial hydraulic systems and automated production line equipment. You will work with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, using schematics and PLC diagnostics to isolate faults and improve equipment performance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years in industrial maintenance (8+ years preferred), and 12-hour shift availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience; 8+ years preferred for advanced placement.
• Experience troubleshooting large industrial hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency reading electrical, mechanical, hydraulic drawings.
• Experience with electrical diagnostics, hydraulic systems, and industrial equipment troubleshooting.
• Welding and fabrication skills (MIG, TIG, and/or Stick).
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and root-cause analysis.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts.
• Certifications such as IFPS, NCCER, SMRP, OSHA 10/30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced repairs, component replacements, and preventative maintenance on machines with emphasis on hydraulic extrusion presses.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions across electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Use electrical schematics, hydraulic prints, and PLC diagnostics to isolate failures efficiently.
• Recommend and execute machine modifications through change-control SOPs to reduce recurring failures.
• Weld, fabricate, and align machinery for retrofits, leaks, and structural repairs.
• Suggest workflow or tool changes to increase efficiency while following safety policies (LOTO, PPE).
• Maintain documentation and support root-cause analyses with technical data.
