Job summary

Planet Group is seeking an experienced Commercial / Industrial HVAC Technician to support the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems at a large facility in the Akron area. The role requires troubleshooting complex equipment, working with building controls, and performing preventive maintenance with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or trade school training in HVAC strongly preferred.
• Approximately 10+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC systems.
• Experience with pneumatic and DDC/building automation controls.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and maintenance docs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and install commercial/industrial HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Review blueprints, specifications, and system performance data to understand configuration and requirements.
• Inspect systems for malfunctions and deviations from specs.
• Operate and monitor HVAC equipment including compressors, pumps, condensers, fans, motors, valves, and controls.
• Monitor energy management systems for alarms and take corrective action.
• Troubleshoot heating and cooling concerns across the facility.
• Record operating data and maintain maintenance logs.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory; keep spaces safe and clean.
