Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join the North Kingstown, RI site. The role focuses on developing and implementing IE processes for new products, ensuring work packages reflect actual work, and feeding planning data for accurate execution.

You will work with operations, engineering and planning to optimize sequences, cost and manpower estimates, and contribute to future state roadmaps while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Ability to walk the shop floor to support operations during construction.
• Preferred: BS in Industrial Engineering.
• Experience with Siemens Teamcenter or CAD modeling software.
• Previous manufacturing/engineering experience.
• Project management certification or experience.
• Prior Industrial Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement processes for IE evaluation of new products.
• Collaborate with operations on scope and sequence to reflect work.
• Develop product structure to feed planning information for work packages.
• Document, evaluate, and improve operations sequences.
• Estimate cost, schedule, manpower; suggest manufacturing improvements.
• Capture issues/lessons learned and resolve recurrence.
• Implement portions of the Production System.
• Mentor/train less experienced group members.
• Support future state initiatives and roadmaps.
