Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks an Engineer for the Industrial Engineering Integration Team in North Kingstown, RI. The role focuses on developing and implementing IE processes for new submarines, coordinating with operations, design, and planning to feed work packages for production.

The position requires a BS in engineering with 5+ years of experience, the ability to walk the shop floor, and strong skills in documentation, project planning, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; 5+ years engineering experience preferred.
• Industrial engineering background preferred; experience reading drawings/blueprints a plus.
• Experience with CAD/modeling software (Siemens Teamcenter) a plus.
• PM experience or certification desirable; manufacturing/operations background helpful.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Industrial Engineering evaluation processes for new products.
• Coordinate with operations to verify work packages reflect actual work.
• Create product structures to feed planning information for work packages.
• Document, evaluate, and improve construction sequences.
• Estimate cost, schedule, manpower using available tools; provide process recommendations.
• Capture lessons learned and apply corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Contribute to Production System portions and future state roadmaps.
• Mentor and train less experienced team members.
