Job summary

Hyliion seeks a Senior Industrial Engineer to make the KARNO production system measurable and better. This hands-on role owns capacity modeling, takt analysis, line balancing, layout and material flow design, and constraint elimination across core assembly and subassemblies.

As Cedar Park becomes KARNO production home, you will work with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering to achieve balanced flow, defined takt, and credible throughput.

Qualifications

• BS in Industrial/Manufacturing/Systems Eng or related field.
• 6+ years in manufacturing IE with capacity analysis, line balancing, layout design.
• Hands-on plant layout and workstation design experience.
• Experience with pull systems and material flow on live floor.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, CPIM, PMP, or ergonomic training beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Model capacity across four production areas and define realistic targets.
• Perform time studies, set defensible labor standards, balance across stations.
• Design floor layouts, analyze material flow, and plan for growth.
• Create pull systems with Kanban sizing and WIP caps.
• Run value stream mapping, kaizen events, and 5S.
• Build reports from ERP and shop floor data to track performance.
• Model cost per unit and justify capital investments.
• Help build Hyliion Production System and standard practices.
• Model impact of engineering changes on flow and cycle time.
• Design ergonomic and safe workstations.
