Job summary

Hyliion seeks a Senior Industrial Engineer to establish the KARNO production system at Cedar Park, TX. You will own capacity and takt modeling, line balancing, layout and material flow design, and constraint elimination across core assembly and power modules.

This is a hands-on senior role on the Manufacturing Engineering team, partnering daily with Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Design Engineering. You’ll help define flow targets, develop ERP-based metrics, and build reporting to expose

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Systems Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven success in low-volume, high-complexity environments and production transitions.
• Hands-on plant layouts and workstation design experience.
• Experience implementing pull systems and material flow on a live production floor.
• Aerospace/defense or regulated hardware experience beneficial; on-site Cedar Park, TX.
• Lean Six Sigma, CPIM, PMP, or ergonomic assessment training beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Capacity and takt modeling across all production areas with current vs theoretical capacity.
• Line balancing and standard work; define routings and standard times in ERP.
• Layout and flow design for scalable production layouts and material flow.
• Design and implement pull systems with kanban sizing and WIP limits.
• Lead continuous improvement through value stream mapping, kaizen, and 5S.
• Build reporting for throughput, yield, labor efficiency, WIP, and cycle time using ERP/shop floor data.
• Cost modeling and capital justification for equipment and tooling to improve flow.
• Help build Hyliion Production System with standardized practices and visual management.
• Model engineering changes impact on flow, cycle time, and capacity.
• Ergonomics and safe work design; design workstations for all-day safety.
• Additional duties as assigned.
