Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Automation Materials Industrial Engineer to join our AMD organization to plan, develop, and deploy automation solutions that improve material flow, labor efficiency, safety, and performance in manufacturing environments. This role collaborates with operations, engineering, materials, logistics, and automation teams to evaluate processes and design improvements.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an Industrial Engineer focused on materials flow, PFEP, and experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as Industrial Engineer focusing on materials flow.
• PFEP knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, development, and deployment of automation solutions that improve material flow and efficiency.
• Evaluate current processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop automation concepts.
• Support successful implementation through launch and stabilization in manufacturing environments.

Job description

Duration: 1 year contract with potential extensions

Compensation: $40/hr to $48/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience working as an Industrial Engineer with a focus on materials/material flow
• PFEP (Plan For Every Part)
• Experience using AutoCAD and performing plant floor layouts
• Must be comfortable with up to 75% travel to local plants, may require some further travel occasionally to plants within the Midwest

Plusses:

• Experience with automation technologies (AMRs, AGVs, robotics integration).
• Knowledge of ERP/WMS systems and digital twin applications.
• Prior experience working in a Center of Excellence or global standards role.

We are seeking a Senior Industrial Automation Execution Engineer to join our Autonomous Manufacturing & Deployment (AMD) organization to support the planning, development, and deployment of automation solutions that improve material flow, labor efficiency, safety, and operational performance within manufacturing environments. This role will work closely with operations, engineering, materials, logistics, and automation teams to evaluate current processes, identify improvement opportunities, develop automation concepts, and support successful implementation through launch and stabilization. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with practical experience supporting manufacturing operations and automation initiatives. This position is weighted toward front-end analysis, material flow optimization, and solution development while maintaining involvement throughout implementation and execution.
