Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a Sr Industrial Engineer to support the Effectors portfolio in Tucson, AZ, focusing on throughput, efficiency, and value delivery. Onsite position with DoD security requirements and cross-functional collaboration for constant improvement.

The role covers labor performance analyses, process optimization, and capacity planning, with a strong emphasis on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to meet cost, quality, and schedule goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain ATF clearance.

Responsibilities

• Model factory operations by generating process flows and value stream maps to visualize production processes and KPIs.
• Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
• Apply Six Sigma and Lean principles to improve efficiency, cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Draft infrastructure improvement proposals and plan integration of new products/technologies/equipment.
• Work with cross-functional teams to address obsolescence and promote growth.
• Support new production contracts and product integration efforts.
• Improve factory safety and work cell ergonomics.
