Job summary

AECOM is recruiting talented individuals to lead our Industrial Engineering team across multiple regions and offices. You will support high-value Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial projects while embedding Lean thinking and best practices.

As the Senior Industrial Engineer, you will develop a high-performing Process Optimization capability delivering complex projects across Federal and Commercial industries, with travel across the US and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline plus 8 years of related experience, or demonstrable equivalent experience
• Due to the nature of the role, United States Citizenship is required
• Master’s Degree preferred
• 15 years overall industry experience, with 3-5 years of role-specific experience
• Background in manufacturing, industrial engineering, process improvement, or related operational environments
• Experience working within or alongside highly regulated industries (e.g. defense, aviation, nuclear, infrastructure, manufacturing)
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical, value-driven solutions
• Experience applying Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations
• Experience applying Lean principles in non-manufacturing environments
• Consulting experience in complex project environments is a plus
• Process mapping, analysis and optimization
• Production systems, facility design or industrial operations
• Data analysis and performance improvement
• Project delivery and workstream management
• Automation, robotics or manufacturing systems integration
• Digital manufacturing, simulation or data analytics tools
• Experience applying Lean principles in non-manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

• Manage the development of value propositions for process optimization, manufacturing and industrial advisory services
• Develop data-driven insights and translate them into practical, deliverable solutions
• Manage and Deliver projects and workstreams to agreed quality, cost and schedule
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma and industrial engineering techniques to analyze and improve client operations
• Build effective relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and thought leadership
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across AECOM
• Contribute to the development of best practice methods and standards
• Support capability development through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing
• This role will include travel across the United States, as well as internationally as needed
