Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an Industrial Engineer to support operations in the ASI Division. The role focuses on integrating manpower, facilities, materials, and equipment for manufacturing processes and leading enterprise-level process improvements.

The candidate will work with design and operations teams, support lean manufacturing practices, and help establish international process standards. DoD clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Masters, or PhD in engineering or related technical discipline with progressive engineering experience.
• Nine+ years with a bachelor’s degree, seven+ years with a master’s, or four+ years with a PhD; substitution allowed.
• Experience with engineering change processes from request to implementation.
• Experience with drawings and engineering/manufacturing BOMs.
• Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing methods for waste reduction.
• ERP systems experience (SAP desirable).
• Basic CAD design experience (floor layout and small tooling).
• Experience in discrete simulation software (Simio or PlantSim).
• Experience in materials management (warehousing, logistics).
• Ability to apply engineering concepts safely and to adapt in evolving environments.

Responsibilities

• Understand integration of manpower, facility space, materials, equipment for a process.
• Analyze, design, and implement solutions across manufacturing, logistics, and operations.
• Lead process improvement projects with enterprise-level impact.
• Anticipate risks and address complex technical issues to achieve goals.
• Guide resolution of technical problems and apply latest technology in projects.
• Serve as a consulting resource for lean manufacturing and process engineering.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering during prototype, development, and first article manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Operations Program Management for international operations and foreign customers.
• Establish and maintain work instructions and related manufacturing documentation.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences about processes and changes.
