Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an Industrial Engineer III, Continuous Improvement to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes across the facility. The role focuses on driving lean initiatives, improving efficiency and quality, and collaborating with internal and external teams to implement new processes and technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Lean Manufacturing methodologies understanding.
• Experience with simulation software (e.g., SIMIO) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Willingness to work on production floor ~80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing production processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• Ramp up production volumes from low to full-rate productions with proven success.
• Develop and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing.
• Lead site-level lean tool training, assessments, and action plans.
• Create value stream maps and manage improvement plans.
• Develop capacity models; analyze and maintain post-improvement models; use Digital Twin for simulation and optimization.
• Drive visual management and real-time data displays across manufacturing.
• Analyze KPI trends and provide actionable insights to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
