Job summary

Amentum seeks an Industrial Maintenance Electrician IV in Rancho Viejo, NM, to join our operations and maintenance team. The role starts as a three‑month contract with potential extension and possible transition to a longer-term position.

The technician will respond to work orders, troubleshoot, service, and document electrical and controls needs for HVAC equipment, conveyors, motors, lighting, and cranes. PLCs/PLCs, HMI, and 480V systems are central to daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant electrical maintenance experience.
• Five years in industrial electrical maintenance or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet in elevated environments.
• Medium voltage experience and required safety trainings (NFPA70E, OSHA 30, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Safely perform electrical and controls work following safety guidelines.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical equipment and control circuits 24V–480V.
• Calibrate instrumentation and controls for optimal performance.
• Procure parts from OEMs or authorized vendors.
• Ensure NEC compliance and safety standards.
• Operate building automation systems and CMMS for maintenance tracking.
• Mentor less skilled technicians and communicate effectively with management and customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to work orders promptly.
• Recommend improvements to maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Work with PLCs, HMI, and motor control systems including VFDs and 3-phase motors.
