Job summary

True Anomaly seeks an experienced industrial designer to join its new hardware design team. This fully hands-on role involves sketching, modelling, prototyping, and detailing real hardware with direct collaboration with design leadership and engineers.

You'll work in a lean team where your artistic talent is front and center, shaping space hardware that may reach on-orbit demonstrations and high-level government reviews. The position offers equity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Show us an amazing portfolio of hardware you designed, including sketches and the middle stages, not only hero renders.
• Strong surfacing and CAD skills, and comfort moving between design and engineering CAD.
• Practical manufacturing knowledge—machining, sheet metal, additive, molding, coatings and finishes.
• Background in consumer, automotive, aerospace, robotics, or industrial equipment; defense/space knowledge is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Sketch, model, prototype, refine, and detail hardware from concept to production.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering to preserve design intent through packaging, thermal, structural, and routing decisions.
• Prototype quickly and truthfully, print, mock, and evaluate Learnings.
• Create renders, animations, and drawings for executives, customers, and manufacturing partners.
• Bring impeccable design and artistic vision into all work to make the product stand out.
