Job summary

Cybertrol Engineering in Madison, WI is seeking an experienced Industrial Controls Engineer to develop and implement PLC/HMI code, coordinate with Digital Manufacturing, Hardware, and Industrial IT teams, and deliver projects to meet customer needs.

You will lead in creating Functional Specifications, write robust PLC/HMI programs, and supervise commissioning on site while traveling up to 25%. This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership and strong problem solving skills.

Qualifications

B.S. in Engineering or related field with 5+ years in industrial automation.
Associate Degree in Engineering Technology with 5+ years in industrial automation.
Strong technical leadership to guide and coach teams.
Proficient in programming and delivering projects in a team.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Curiosity and agility in problem solving when faced with challenges.
Focus and tenacity to see tasks through to completion.
Goal oriented with a desire to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement PLC/HMI code, including simulation and commissioning at customer sites.
Create Functional Specifications and PLC/HMI programs as part of a team or as a technical lead.
Collaborate with Digital Manufacturing, Hardware, and Industrial IT engineers to deliver projects.
Maintain customer contact throughout the project lifecycle and after commissioning.
Lead and provide technical leadership, system-level thinking, and problem solving.
Engage with customers to understand needs and deliver complete deliverables.
