Job summary

Stoughton Trailers, LLC is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to ensure reliable operation of complex automation and electrical systems across Plant 4 facilities in Wisconsin. You will manage PLC/HMI programs, interpret schematics, and lead reliability improvements with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a 2-year degree in automation or related field and 8+ years in automation, robotics, and controls, with NFPA 70E certification required and OSHA preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in automation, robotics, controls, electrical, or related Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in automation, robotics, and controls.
• NFPA 70E Certification required; OSHA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production and facilities equipment is operational by responding to emergency, routine, and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain PLC/HMI programs and electrical drawings; modify PLC programs and screen layouts.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve OEE, safety, quality, and productivity.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex automation, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Lead commissioning, installation, and design improvements; coordinate contractors as needed.
