Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Manager, Indirect Tax to lead U.S. sales and use tax compliance, taxation analyses, exemption management, and related risk mitigation.

The role partners with Accounting, Legal, Procurement and Project teams, handling complex tax issues for construction projects in a strategic, cross-functional capacity. Remote or hybrid work is possible with regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA, Broomfield, CO, or Portland, OR, coordinating tax strategy with the Indirect

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
• 15+ years of progressive tax experience, including U.S. sales and use tax.
• Indirect tax experience in construction, engineering, EPC, infrastructure, or project-based industry.
• Strong knowledge of nexus, sourcing, taxability, exemptions, resale, and use tax accruals.
• Experience with multi-state taxability reviews and documented positions.
• Experience managing exemptions and resale certificates and advisory guidance.
• Experience with tax technology and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage U.S. sales and use tax compliance processes including returns, payments, and reporting.
• Oversee preparation/review of returns and ensure timely filings.
• Lead taxability reviews of purchases, sales, services, and materials.
• Develop and document taxability positions and guidance.
• Coordinate with procurement, AP, billing, and operations teams.
• Support audits, notices, and inquiries with tax authorities.
• Mentor indirect tax team and drive process improvements.
