Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Manager, Indirect Tax to lead U.S. sales and use tax compliance, reporting and advisory efforts across construction projects.

You will partner with Finance, Legal, Procurement, Operations and Project Management to ensure accurate tax determinations and scalable processes. The role offers remote or hybrid work with regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA, Broomfield, CO, or Portland, OR, and requires deep knowledge of state and local tax rules and exemption

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business, or a related field.
• 15+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant experience in U.S. sales and use tax.
• Indirect tax experience within construction, engineering, EPC, infrastructure, or project-based industry.
• Strong knowledge of state/local sales and use tax principles, nexus, taxability, exemptions, resale, use tax accruals.
• Experience performing multi-state taxability reviews and documenting positions.
• Experience analyzing exemption/resale certificates and guidance for proper use.
• Ability to partner with Procurement, AP, Legal, Operations and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage U.S. sales and use tax compliance, returns, payments, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Oversee preparation and review of tax returns and ensure timely filings.
• Manage use tax accruals and self-assessment requirements.
• Review tax accounts, accruals, and support financial reporting.
• Maintain documentation and controls supporting indirect tax compliance.
• Coordinate with external service providers on compliance activities.
• Escalate significant issues to the Indirect Tax Director.
