Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive experience in Indirect Tax (Sales and Use) within a Big 4 accounting firm or specialized tax consulting boutique.
• CPA, JD, or LLM preferred; deep expertise in Reverse Audits, Audit Defense, and multistate Sales & Use Tax laws.
• Proven track record of managing and growing relationships with large, complex multinational corporations.
• Leadership: ability to lead engagement teams and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Client Leadership: Serve as the primary technical advisor for high-profile Fortune 100/50 client accounts, managing multi-year relationships and complex project lifecycles.
• Audit Defense & Reverse Audits: Lead and oversee comprehensive Sales and Use tax recovery projects and manage complex audit defense engagements to mitigate exposure and maximize cash flow for clients.
• Technical Advisory: Provide expert-level guidance on multi-jurisdictional tax complexities, including nexus studies, taxability research, and transactional planning.
• Practice Development: Drive the growth of the Indirect Tax practice by identifying new service opportunities within existing accounts and mentoring a high-performing team of managers and seniors.
• Legislative Oversight: Monitor and analyze emerging tax legislation (Wayfair, etc.) to proactively advise clients on potential impacts to their global operations.
