Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of income maintenance programs, forms and documents.
• Ability to instruct, organize, direct, and supervise lower level employees.
• Ability to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors, applicants, and community agencies.

Responsibilities

• Plan short- and long-range work operations, priorities and goals within the unit.
• Organize and direct workloads within the unit and sub-units; develop procedures and improve efficiency.
• Provide on-the-job training and coordinate attendance at workshops.
• Set work standards to ensure compliance with Federal and State standards.
• Review staff work through sampling and quality assurance reports.
• Counsel and discipline staff as needed; recommend merit raises and reductions.
• Evaluate staff performance and interview applicants with higher management.
