Job summary

Vance County Department of Social Services seeks an Income Maintenance Lead Worker (IMC III) to supervise, coach, and train staff while processing applications and recertifications for timely benefit delivery. The role requires thorough knowledge of income maintenance programs and strong policy interpretation skills.

Two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or equivalent is required. Standard office hours are 8:30 AM–5:00 PM with occasional after-hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of income maintenance programs.
• Ability to read, analyze, and apply program policies and regulations.
• Ability to train and guide other staff members.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants/recipients for intake or review of eligibility.
• Obtain required documentation to determine initial or ongoing eligibility.
• Determine eligibility based on program policy and case information.
• Enter/update eligibility data in NC Fast System.
• Monitor deadlines and workload to ensure timely processing of benefits.
• Explain programs and benefits to applicants or members of the public.
