Job summary

Atlassian seeks an Senior Engineering Manager for Incident Response to lead high‑impact security incidents within a cloud environment. You will coordinate multi‑stakeholder responses and mentor a team of 5–8 security engineers in the US region.

You will drive improvements to incident response through playbooks, metrics, and readiness exercises, and you will champion the deployment of AI tools and automation to accelerate investigations while maintaining rigorous security standards.

Qualifications

• Directly lead complex, multi‑stakeholder security incidents in a SaaS/cloud/enterprise environment.
• Proven record of developing senior security engineers, incident responders, or technical leads.
• Strong executive communication to translate complex technical info into decisions, risks and next steps.
• Improve incident response programs with metrics, retrospectives, and readiness exercises.

Responsibilities

• Lead or coordinate high‑impact security incidents with urgency and structure.
• Manage a team of 5–8 in the US region and mentor incident responders.
• Drive adoption of investigative AI tools and automation in security operations.
• Develop playbooks, post‑incident reviews, and better tooling to reduce toil and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with Detection, Security Engineering, Legal, and executive leadership.
