Job summary

Waymo LLC in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a seasoned Operations Leader for high-priority safety and incident response in a hybrid role reporting to the Head of Event Response. You will drive real-time decisions and supervise escalation workflows across the operations team.

Lead daily shifts, conduct post-incident reviews, and translate findings into updated policies and playbooks. Strong de-escalation, communication, and data-analysis skills are required to support 24/7 coverage.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in high-pressure operational environments such as critical infrastructure or emergency response.
• Strong real-time critical thinking and de-escalation skills with safety as a priority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional briefings and leadership updates.

Responsibilities

• Lead Operations teams in escalation pathways and response plans for high-priority safety incidents.
• Provide authoritative updates to executive stakeholders and act as a single source of truth.
• Oversee daily shift operations and weekly incident reporting with root-cause analysis and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with product/quality, engineering, and risk teams to codify improvements into playbooks and policies.
• Coordinate with vendor partners to manage change and ensure regulatory compliance.
