Databricks is seeking an Incident Manager to lead our most critical production incidents while communicating clearly with customers, executives, and engineers. You will serve as incident commander and reliability engineer, orchestrating multi-team responses and driving real-time status updates during high-impact events.

This role blends operational leadership with technical systems knowledge and exceptional writing skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in incident management, site reliability engineering, or production operations.
• Experience leading high-severity incidents and coordinating multi-team responses.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Expertise in log analysis and debugging with tools such as Datadog, Elasticsearch, Splunk, Cloud Logging, or OpenTelemetry.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for automating diagnostics.
• Experience developing incident playbooks and communication templates.
• Excellent writing and communication skills for technical and business audiences.
• BS, MS or related degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead critical incidents, coordinating multi-disciplinary response efforts across Databricks’ cloud-based services to rapidly mitigate impact and restore operations.
• Drive technical root cause analysis and reliability improvements with engineering teams to document and address underlying causes across distributed systems.
• Own communications during incidents; deliver frequent, high-quality updates to internal stakeholders and publish customer-facing notifications.
• Mentor and train peers in incident communication and technical response to raise overall incident response quality.
