Job summary

Databricks is seeking an experienced Tech Lead to shape platform observability and proactive monitoring. You will lead complex investigations, design observability solutions, and drive systemic improvements to enhance reliability and customer experience.

You will develop monitoring and alerting, work with cross-functional teams, and mentor engineers on best practices. You’ll own incident lifecycle phases from detection to post-mortem in production environments, implementing scalable patterns and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field (CS/CE or equivalent).
Experience owning critical phases of the incident lifecycle in production environments.
Hands-on with cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP) and container orchestration.
Proficient in building automation tools with Python or similar languages.

Responsibilities

Lead platform incident investigations and coordinate cross-functional response to minimize customer impact.
Perform post-incident RCAs across infrastructure and services to identify systemic patterns.
Design and implement customer-focused alerting pipelines and end-to-end observability workflows.
Develop automation tooling and reusable monitoring patterns to close reliability gaps.
Mentor junior engineers on observability patterns, alert design, and service health metrics.
Participate in on-call rotation and incident drills.
