Job summary

EDENS is seeking a senior in-house attorney to partner with regional leadership in Fort Lauderdale or Dallas. You will structure, negotiate, and close sophisticated retail real estate transactions, including grocery and anchor leases, and manage cross-functional teams.

You will advise on deal economics, risk, and compliance, lead legal operations, and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals while coordinating with outside counsel.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and active bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5–7 years of progressive legal experience, incl. substantial retail leasing.
• Senior in-house attorney experience or equivalent with independent judgment.
• Expertise in complex retail leasing and multi-party real estate transactions.
• Strong leadership, strategic advisory, and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide regional legal support as senior partner for portfolios.
• Lead complex retail real estate transactions from structuring to closing.
• Advise business on deal economics, risk, and compliance.
• Offer risk-calibrated advice on major transactions and portfolio strategy.
• Direct and coordinate department lawyers, paralegals, and outside counsel.
• Improve templates, workflows, and legal tech adoption.
• Develop talent through mentoring and professional development.
• Represent the Legal function in leadership meetings and forums.
• Support enterprise priorities with strategic subject-matter leadership.
