Job summary

EDENS is seeking a senior in-house real estate lawyer to lead regional legal support and complex transactions. You will structure, negotiate, draft, and close retail leases including anchors, ground leases, estoppels, and multi-party agreements.

You will counsel Investment Management, Development, Leasing, and Finance on deal economics and risk. The role requires 5–7 years of retail leasing experience, leadership ability, and strong executive presence to partner with senior business leaders.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (DC preferred, or ability to obtain DC).
• 5–7 years of progressive legal experience, including substantial retail leasing.

Responsibilities

• Regional legal support as the primary senior legal partner for regional portfolios.
• Structure, negotiate, draft, and close sophisticated retail real estate matters.
• Counsel business units on deal economics, construction obligations, and risk.
• Provide risk-calibrated advice on major transactions and portfolio strategy.
• Direct department attorneys, paralegals, and outside counsel; manage costs.
• Improve templates, workflows, and legal technology adoption.
