Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior real estate and construction lawyer to support real estate life cycle activities from site selection through transaction execution and ongoing compliance. You will negotiate leases, licenses, SNDAs, and related agreements while guiding risk and strategy across U.S.

and international projects. You will lead due diligence, advise executives, manage cross-functional partners, and help build scalable processes for the Legal and Compliance Department.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 7+ years of legal experience with a law firm, corporation, or government entity, including substantive experience in commercial real estate transactions and/or construction contracting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead sophisticated projects involving multiple team members.
• Ability to earn trust and provide legal advice to executives and colleagues at all levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and sound judgment in fast-moving situations.
• Willingness to learn new substantive areas and obtain in-house counsel registration where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead counsel across Blue Origin's real estate life cycle from site identification to execution and ongoing compliance.
• Draft, review and negotiate agreements across U.S. and international real estate portfolios, including leases, licenses, and SNDA agreements.
• Lead construction legal support, including drafting, negotiations, dispute resolution, and risk mitigation.
• Conduct and improve real estate due diligence, advising on zoning, permits, and entitlements.
• Coordinate with FMSO and Government Relations on incentives, abatements, and site-selection commitments.
• Manage landlord and construction disputes with litigation counsel and outside advisors as needed.
• Identify and elevate regulatory and compliance risks in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Provide practical, business-oriented counsel to executives and colleagues and build scalable legal processes.
