Job summary

Green Thumb Industries (GTI) seeks an experienced in-house employment attorney to join our Legal team. You will partner with the People team and business leaders across multi-state operations, providing practical, business-focused guidance on the full employee lifecycle—from hiring and onboarding to performance management and separations.

You will manage internal investigations and the EEOC process, draft policies, advise on leave and accommodations, and ensure compliance across jurisdictions,

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and bar admission in the relevant state.
• 6+ years of employment law experience, in-house preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Experience navigating multi-state compliance; cannabis industry a plus.
• Ability to partner with outside counsel and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Advise as the in-house employment law advisor to People team and business partners.
• Provide practical, risk-calibrated guidance across the full employee lifecycle.
• Manage EEOC charges and agency complaints end-to-end.
• Collaborate with AGC – Litigation on escalated matters.
• Draft and maintain employee policies and handbook across jurisdictions.
• Deliver training on high-risk areas like terminations, leave, investigations.
