Job summary

Green Thumb Industries is seeking an experienced in-house employment attorney to join our Legal team. You will partner with the People team and business leaders across multi-state operations, providing practical guidance on hiring, leave, accommodations, investigations, and wage and hour issues.

You will own EEOC processes, advise on complex regulatory matters, and help design employment policies while safeguarding the company's interests.

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission.
6+ years employment law experience, in-house preferred.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
Experience navigating multi-state compliance; cannabis industry a plus.
Proven ability to counsel, write, and advise quickly.

Responsibilities

Serve as the dedicated employment law advisor to People team and business partners across multi-state operations.
Advise on internal workplace investigations involving misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Own EEOC charge and agency complaint process end-to-end, drafting statements and coordinating responses.
Collaborate with General Counsel - Litigation for matters beyond the administrative stage.
Advise on complex leave and reasonable accommodation matters across operating states.
Partner with People team to draft and maintain employment policies and manage workforce strategy.
Review employment agreements, offer letters, severance templates used by People and Talent Acquisition.
Design and deliver practical employment law training for managers and People team.
Support labor relations strategy and union matters as needed.
Stay current on federal/state/local developments and translate into actionable guidance.
