Job summary

Green Thumb is seeking an experienced in-house employment attorney to join our Legal team. You will advise People team and business leaders across multi-state operations, handling the full employee lifecycle from hiring to separations with practical, business-focused guidance.

Responsibilities include advising on investigations, managing the EEOC process, drafting policy updates, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws in cannabis-regulated environments across markets.

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in the state where the attorney resides.
6+ years of employment law experience, with in-house experience preferred.
Strong working knowledge of employment laws under federal, state, and local frameworks.
Cannabis industry or other highly regulated industry experience a plus.
Excellent legal analysis, reasoning, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as the dedicated employment law advisor to People team and other business partners across multi-state operations.
Advise on internal workplace investigations involving misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Own EEOC charge and agency complaint process end-to-end; draft statements and coordinate fact-gathering.
Collaborate with General Counsel on matters escalated beyond the administrative stage.
Design and deliver practical employment law training for managers and People team.
