Job summary

Mallory Alexander International Logistics, a global 3PL, seeks an Import Manager to lead U.S. import customs brokerage and operations. You will manage daily activity, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive customer relationships and team performance.

Responsibilities include oversight of entry writing, classification, and post-entry activities, while maintaining focus on efficiency and accuracy. Strong CBP knowledge and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) required.
• CCS certification preferred.
• 7+ years of U.S. customs brokerage and import operations experience.
• Supervisory or management experience in customs brokerage/import operations.
• Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and PGA requirements.
• Strong experience with air and ocean imports and entry writing.
• Experience managing departmental budgets, profitability, and growth.
• Excellent customer service, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• CargoWise experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily customs brokerage and air/ocean import operations, ensuring timely and accurate customs clearance and shipment handling.
• Oversee import entry writing, classification, valuation, documentation, billing, and post-entry activities.
• Ensure compliance with CBP regulations, PGA requirements, customer SOPs, and company policies.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex customs, import, operational, and customer issues.
• Manage customer relationships and support customer retention and business growth.
• Monitor department productivity, service levels, profitability, and operational performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop team members while managing performance and staffing needs.
• Work closely with carriers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth import operations.
