Job summary

Tradewin is seeking a highly motivated Senior Import Consultant to lead regulatory research, advise on compliance matters, and communicate effectively with clients and authorities. You will audit entries, prepare memos, and drive corrective actions to strengthen import compliance programs.

The role requires five or more years in import compliance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to travel up to 25% for client engagements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of progressive experience in import compliance, customs consulting, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex regulatory matters clearly and professionally.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and applicable Partner Government Agency requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Microsoft Access or comparable database tools preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 25%, as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, clients, government agencies, and other external parties.
• Research, interpret, and apply U.S. CBP and Partner Government Agency regulations.
• Prepare analyses, opinion letters, compliance memoranda, and client recommendations.
• Audit import entries and supporting documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate importer compliance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage multiple consulting projects, priorities, deliverables, and deadlines.
• Maintain accurate daily records of project activities and billable time.
• Contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing within the department.
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
