Job summary

RTI Health Solutions is seeking an Associate Director, Implementation Scientist to lead implementation science projects across the pharmaceutical development lifecycle. You will manage scope, budgets, timelines, risks, and client communication, while guiding qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in related field with 2+ years of experience (or master's with 4+ years).

Qualifications

• PhD in implementation science, translational health science, public health, or related field with at least 2 years of directly relevant experience; or a relevant master's with at least 4 years of directly relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience applying implementation science theories, models, frameworks, strategies, and outcomes to real-world healthcare or life sciences questions.
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical development process and the role of evidence generation in clinical development, regulatory planning, market access, launch, and post-launch decision making.
• Demonstrated ability to design scientifically rigorous and operationally feasible health research studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex implementation science and applied health research projects from initial scoping through final delivery.
• Translate client objectives and evidence needs into scientifically rigorous, feasible, decision-relevant research strategies.
• Provide strategic direction on applying implementation science to pharmaceutical development and healthcare delivery.
• Serve as scientific and project lead for multidisciplinary teams with clear roles and communication pathways.
• Exercise sound judgment balancing scientific rigor, feasibility, client priorities, timelines, and resources.
• Provide scientific review of study plans, instruments, analyses, and client deliverables.
• Identify and manage scientific, operational, and client risks with practical mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with experts across RTI-HS and RTI International to develop integrated solutions.
