  • Identify errors and risks and recommend corrective actions for successful implementation.

  • Apply industry experience to develop strategies that minimize risk.
  • Serve as ASME PIC for Section XI; maintain related knowledge.
  • Provide guidance on project strategies, readiness, and execution plans.
  • Perform field and shop oversight to ensure progress.

Overview

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Senior Implementation Manager - Valve Maintenance will provide technical leadership, oversight, and execution support for complex nuclear projects, driving schedule performance, quality, risk reduction, and cost-effective delivery. The ideal candidate brings extensive commercial nuclear power plant experience, including multiple refueling outages, expertise in outage planning, work management, and ASME requirements, and advanced knowledge of Primavera P6, SAP/Asset Suite, and nuclear industry codes and standards. Strong leadership, analytical, and project execution skills are essential for success in this role. This full‑time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay rate

$84.67 - $117.97

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support, oversight, and governance for Mechanical Enterprise Risk Projects to ensure safe, high-quality, on-schedule, and cost-effective project execution.
  • Review and evaluate project documentation to identify opportunities for schedule improvement, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and quality enhancement.
  • Analyze project schedules, implementation plans, risk registers, work orders, quality control plans, testing procedures, turnover strategies, resource plans, budgets, radiological work strategies, and material handling plans.
  • Identify errors, inefficiencies, and execution risks and recommend corrective actions to support successful project implementation.
  • Validate the quality and accuracy of Work Order Tasks (WOTs) prior to field execution and ensure compliance with established work management processes.
  • Review, revise, and improve work packages, instructions, references, acceptance criteria, and testing plans.
  • Identify opportunities for mock-ups and simulations, providing technical guidance to improve readiness and execution effectiveness.
  • Apply industry operating experience and lessons learned to develop strategies that improve project outcomes and minimize execution risk.
  • Serve as the ASME Person-in-Charge (PIC) for Section XI Repair and Replacement activities, as assigned.
  • Maintain expertise in applicable codes, standards, regulations, technologies, and industry best practices related to nuclear maintenance and project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance and candid feedback to project managers and leadership regarding project strategies, readiness, and execution plans.
  • Perform field and shop oversight activities to ensure work is progressing according to approved plans and project objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendor resources to remove barriers and support successful project execution.
  • Serve as the designated lead for project work activities during alternate shifts when required, providing oversight for large field crews.
  • Participate in project readiness reviews, design reviews, risk management meetings, schedule development sessions, implementation briefings, and other strategic project meetings.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field and 10 years of electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, or regulated industrial environment; OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field and 12 years of electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, or regulated industrial environment; OR Associate degree from an accredited institution and 14 years of electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, or regulated industrial environment; OR High School Diploma/GED and 16 years of electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, or regulated industrial environment.
  • Have worked on Valve Teams in the past.
  • Extensive experience supporting operations, maintenance, and production activities at a commercial nuclear power plant.
  • Experience participating in multiple nuclear refueling outages.
  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management and work management systems such as Asset Suite, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced understanding of logic-driven scheduling software, including Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Thorough knowledge of nuclear industry codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and maintenance practices.
  • Experience with work package development, testing programs, quality control processes, and field execution planning.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section XI Repair and Replacement requirements.
  • Knowledge of outage planning, risk management, resource planning, and project execution methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of human performance improvement tools, error reduction techniques, and cost-effective work execution practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience providing oversight of multi-disciplinary teams and contractor resources.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence project teams and stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other project management tools.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments, including outage and shift-support assignments when required.
