Overview
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work hybrid with our client. This Nuclear Project Manager I will lead and oversee capital projects supporting refueling outages, forced outages, and online maintenance activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-budget execution. This role manages cross-functional teams, project schedules, budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships while supporting ALARA, nuclear safety, and regulatory compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have advanced project management experience in a commercial nuclear power plant or similarly regulated environment, along with a PMP certification and expertise in outage management, project controls, and continuous improvement practices. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.
Pay Rate
$47.79 - $85.51

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage small to medium-sized capital projects for refueling outages, forced outages, and online maintenance activities.
- Plan, schedule, monitor, and control project activities to ensure safe, high-quality, on-time, and within-budget execution.
- Direct project teams of 5-10 personnel and establish project priorities to achieve business objectives.
- Oversee all phases of project implementation, including work package development, procurement, resource planning, and execution.
- Manage project budgets, track costs against forecasts, and coordinate closely with finance and project controls teams.
- Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts while serving as the primary interface with vendors and external partners.
- Coordinate with engineers, operations personnel, stakeholders, and management to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.
- Resolve schedule conflicts, resource constraints, and execution challenges to maintain project performance.
- Support ALARA planning, industrial safety, nuclear safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain long-range project strategies and implementation plans.
- Monitor project management processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepare and deliver project updates, reports, and presentations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Support Columbia Generating Station's Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program initiatives.
- Provide outage support, including participation in Outage Control Center (OCC) activities.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices relevant to project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field and 14 years of technical experience;
- OR Associate degree (AA/AS) and 16 years of technical experience;
- OR High School Diploma/GED and 18 years of technical experience.
- Advanced degree in a related field or business may substitute for up to two years of experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent Project Management certification required.
- Extensive experience managing complex capital projects, maintenance programs, or outage-related activities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting refueling outages, forced outages, online maintenance, or similar large-scale industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, risk management, and project controls.
- Experience developing and managing contracts and coordinating vendor activities.
- Knowledge of ALARA principles, industrial safety practices, and nuclear safety requirements.
- Experience with error reduction and human performance improvement methodologies.
- Understanding of cost-effective work execution and continuous improvement practices.
- Advanced project management experience at a commercial nuclear power plant or comparable highly regulated industrial facility.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information to senior management and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
- Proficiency in project management tools, processes, and best practices.
