Job summary

National Center for Youth Law in Oakland, CA, seeks a Development Manager to secure funding for high-impact system reform projects that defend the rights of immigrant children, end child trafficking, and expand access to health education.

You will mentor NCYL staff, cultivate new foundations and funder relationships, and lead strategic development planning while crafting donor-facing content that communicates impact and sustains NCYL's growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to the youth rights issues that NCYL stands for.
• Persuasive, compelling communication skills, especially in the written form
• Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills

Responsibilities

• Staff Mentor & Coach: Cultivate and manage close relationships with NCYL Program Directors, providing development expertise, especially prospecting, funder communications, and proposal writing.
• Prospect Cultivator: Identify and strategize best approaches to reach new funder audiences, including foundation, government, and corporate sources.
• Strategic Partner: Generate new, innovative ideas and contribute to organization-wide strategic and development planning that will help ensure NCYL’s growth.
• Proposal & Content Manager and Writer: Ensure funder-facing materials are high quality and craft engaging content that communicates impact to align staff and funders
