Job summary

Neighborhood Legal Services seeks a Director of Advocacy to lead client-centered legal services, including litigation, community education, and policy advocacy. This senior role partners with the Executive Director and management to set priorities, supervise staff, and ensure rigorous compliance with funding and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and PA admission or eligibility to apply.
• Minimum of 7 years of legal practice, including poverty/public interest law.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and long-range planning for the legal services program.
• Oversee litigation strategy, case reviews, and standards for legal practice.
• Supervise attorneys and staff; mentor and evaluate performance.
• Develop internship programs; recruit and supervise law students and externs.
• Ensure compliance with LSC requirements and PA Rules of Professional Conduct.
• Advocate for systemic reform and impactful community outreach.
