Job summary

ModeX Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Scientist with deep hands-on Immuno-oncology/Immunology expertise to advance novel biologic therapies. You will design, execute, and interpret cell-based studies using primary immune cells, characterize mechanisms of action, and address key biological questions at the bench.

Qualifications

• PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, or related field with 12+ years research, incl. 4+ years in biotech R&D.
• Proven experience in discovery/preclinical biologics, immunology/immuno-oncology preferred.
• Independent scientist with strategy development and data-driven recommendations.
• Strong hands-on Immunotherapy/Immunology expertise and ability to apply new assays.
• Experience designing/ executing functional assays with primary immune cells and multi-parameter flow cytometry.
• Extensive flow cytometry panel design, data analysis; spectral flow desirable.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and drive projects forward.
• Excellent written/oral communication; collaborate across teams.
• Mentorship ability for junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Develop biologic drugs for Immunotherapy from concept to candidate advancement.
• Design, execute, analyze, and interpret in vitro/ex vivo studies to characterize drug candidates and their mechanisms of action.
• Develop, optimize and troubleshoot complex immune cell-based assays using primary immune cells, tumor cell lines, reporter systems, and co-culture models.
• Provide subject matter expertise in multicolor flow cytometry, panel design and optimization, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Critically analyze and integrate experimental data across studies, identify gaps, and provide independent data-driven recommendations.
• Take ownership of assigned research areas or project workstreams, driving studies to completion with independence.
• Maintain awareness of literature and tech developments to inform strategies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with discovery, translational and project teams for data-driven decisions.
• Contribute to scientific reports and presentations, communicating findings to teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with lab standards.
