Job summary

PerkinElmer in Boston, MA seeks an Instrument Readiness Senior Specialist in Flow Core to ensure smooth workflows, manage consumables, and maintain flow cytometry instruments for high-quality research support.

The role requires hands-on operation of ImageStream and Cytek Aurora, routine maintenance, data analysis, and collaboration with scientists to optimize processes in a dynamic lab environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in physical or biological science with 6+ years of relevant experience, or
• Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, including flow cytometry
• Experience operating Imaging Flow Cytometry (ImageStream) with IDEAS analysis
• Experience with Cytek Aurora spectral flow cytometry and data analysis tools (OMIQ preferred)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging flow cytometry (ImageStream) and analyze data with IDEAS.
• Conduct high-parameter spectral flow cytometry and analyze data with OMIQ.
• Support experimental assays and SOPs; assist in protocol development.
• Execute daily instrument operations and keep instruments calibrated.
• Perform routine maintenance and coordinate preventative maintenance.
• Maintain detailed records of instrument use, downtime, and reagents.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and collaborate with core staff/Vendors.
• Assist with cell sorting using Sony MA900 and basic sorting tasks.
• Support robotics implementations (Spinnaker, Biosero) and train staff.
• Assist with gating and data analysis under supervision.
• Contribute to training of new staff on flow cytometry and safety.
