Job summary

Houston Methodist Flow Cytometry Core is seeking a full-time, salaried research cytometry specialist to support 70+ principal investigators across biology fields. You will operate BD Aria II, Discovery S8, Fortessa, Cytek Aurora, and Luminex platforms, train users, troubleshoot instruments, and contribute to data analysis.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in related field or terminal degree with two years post-doctoral experience.
• Five years experience, depending on education level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates ability to train users and troubleshoot flow cytometers and cell sorters.

Responsibilities

• Operate cytometers and sorters including setup, QC, daily monitoring, and data backups.
• Train researchers on analyzers and assist in data analysis and interpretation.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and inventory; assist with billing and record-keeping.
