Job summary

AbbVie seeks an experienced Senior Scientist II in Informatics, focusing on Computational Digital Pathology & Image Analysis. Qualifications

• PhD in computational biology, biomedical engineering, computer science, AI, ML, CV, image analysis or related field with 4+ years of applied experience.
• Strong foundation in math, statistics, image processing, CV and ML with demonstrated method development.
• Experience with quantitative image analysis on H&E and tissue imaging datasets.
• Proficiency in Python for scientific computing with NumPy, pandas, SciPy; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with high-dimensional multiplexed imaging datasets and spatial analysis.
• Experience with digital pathology platforms (Visiopharm, QuPath) and reproducible workflows.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, develop, optimize, and validate ML, DL, and CV approaches for digital pathology.
• Develop and deploy image analysis workflows for high-dimensional multiplexed datasets.
• Apply statistical methods and robust validation including IoU and F1 score.
• Create Python-based tools to automate image and data processing.
• Collaborate with pathologists and scientists to ensure biologically meaningful results.
• Stay current with AI advances and evaluate new methodologies for drug discovery.
