Job summary

Roku seeks a Senior Illustrator to lead cross-channel illustration for brand campaigns and sponsorable platform experiences. You will translate briefs into visual narratives, guide assets, and build scalable visual systems across placements while maintaining a strong, brand-forward point of view.

The role requires senior-level leadership, a robust portfolio rooted in commercial illustration, and the ability to collaborate across teams in a dynamic environment. California salary range noted.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in illustration, brand design, or campaign-focused visual storytelling.
• Portfolio demonstrates illustration with narrative thinking and aesthetic range.
• Experience art directing and leading illustration for campaigns, product marketing, brand systems, or other high-visibility commercial work.
• Strong strategic instincts and experience guiding other illustrators or designers.
• Excellent illustration fundamentals: composition, color, hierarchy, form, storytelling.
• Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop, and Figma.
• Familiarity with illustration in product/UI environments.
• Experience building assets, toolkits, and scalable systems.
• Ability to work independently and lead under broad strategic direction.
• Strong communication and ability to present work with stakeholders.
• Comfort with brand guidelines while bringing fresh ideas.
• Experience using AI tools in a professional workflow.
• Comfort working in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead illustration for branded campaigns, sponsorable content, and product-focused marketing initiatives.
• Develop visual concepts and narrative systems across Roku's platform.
• Own illustration for assigned product lines from concept to final execution.
• Art direct and guide other illustrators and creative partners to produce on-brand work.
• Create illustrations balancing storytelling, clarity, and commercial impact.
• Collaborate with creative, marketing, sales, and business stakeholders to align with brand and business goals.
• Present work clearly, explain rationale, and represent Creative in cross-functional discussions.
• Define scalable illustration approaches, toolkits, and repeatable systems.
• Use AI tools to accelerate exploration and production while maintaining a strong creative POV.
• Manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment while upholding craft and consistency.
• Champion the brand voice and style.
