Job summary

Box is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Identity & Security Foundation in Redwood City, CA. You will design and build secure authentication/authorization systems, and lead microservices that power MFA, SSO, OAuth 2.0, and JWT-based token management.

You’ll mentor peers and help shape Box’s security architecture. You will work on critical identity infrastructure foundational to Box’s AI-driven platforms, with on-call responsibilities and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a CS or related degree.
• Strong understanding of modern authentication and authorization technologies like MFA, SSO, OAuth 2.0, JWTs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable authentication and authorization systems.
• Build and operate high-quality microservices powering security features (MFA, SSO, OAuth 2.0, OIDC).
• Mentor engineers and influence architectural decisions.
• Participate in on-call rotation to resolve incidents.
