Job summary

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience in Java, Python, PHP, or Scala.
• Experience building containerized microservices in large-scale distributed environments.
• Preferable: machine learning models and trust-and-safety exposure.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and continuously improve security systems that protect Box and its customers from abuse and fraud.
• Develop scalable APIs and backend services that detect and prevent abuse campaigns.
• Build behavioral detection systems and near-real-time mitigation workflows.
• Apply analytics and ML to model malicious behavior and reduce false positives.
• Strengthen platform defenses with rate limiting and automated enforcement.
• Create containerized microservices in distributed environments for high-volume protections.
• Collaborate with security, product, and engineering teams on threat trends and safeguards.
• Contribute to Box’s security strategy by identifying systemic risks and defenses.
• Proactively evaluate evolving abuse patterns to stay ahead of threats.
