Job summary

Salesforce’s Slack Identity Security team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build identity and access controls protecting Slack's infrastructure. You will craft backend services on AWS/Kubernetes, secure authentication/authorization for humans and AI agents, and partner with cross-functional teams to reduce risk and improve reliability.

The role requires 5+ years in software engineering, strong Python/Go skills, and hands-on cloud experience.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend systems.
Proficiency in Python or Go and hands-on AWS experience.
Working knowledge of distributed systems architecture and APIs.
Solid understanding of security fundamentals and secure software development practices.
Strong verbal communication skills and ability to document technical work clearly.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

Design and build identity security services and access controls for Slack's infrastructure.
Develop and maintain backend services on AWS in a Kubernetes environment.
Collaborate with Identity, Security, and Infra teams on shared APIs and services.
Participate in code and design reviews to ensure high-quality software.
Drive ownership of projects and grow identity domain expertise within the team.
