Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Analyst on the Risk Analytics team to own end-to-end risk controls for account takeover and scams across the Coinbase ecosystem. You will define risk metrics, build reporting, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to stay ahead of evolving threats.

This high-impact role requires hands-on risk work, strong data analysis with SQL and Python, and the ability to translate findings into senior leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on risk experience in e-commerce or financial services, with at least 2 years focused on ATO and scams.
• 2+ years of data analysis using SQL and Python on large-scale databases.
• Proficiency with BI and visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Superset) for dashboards.
• Ability to independently scope and deliver analytics projects with cross-functional partners.
• Familiarity with blockchain analytics and fraud trends in crypto ecosystems.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end risk controls for ATO and scam prevention, scaling processes as the business expands.
• Define risk success metrics, build reporting frameworks, and drive continuous improvement.
• Leverage data to assess risk and quantify tradeoffs across large customer segments.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to develop risk strategies across the product suite.
• Synthesize data findings into narratives and recommendations for senior risk and product leadership.
• Investigate and mitigate fraudulent activities by reviewing alerts on anomalous behavior.
