Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Analyst on the Risk Analytics team to own ATO and scam risk controls across the ecosystem. You will work with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to design metrics, dashboards, and prevention strategies that protect millions of users.

You will analyze data, quantify tradeoffs, and communicate actionable insights to senior leadership, while advancing fraud prevention in a fast-paced, remote-first environment that values rigorous analysis and responsible AI use.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on risk experience in e-commerce or financial services, with at least 2 years focusing on ATO and scams.
• 2+ years of professional data analysis using SQL and Python with large-scale databases.
• Proficiency with BI/data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Superset) for dashboards and reporting.
• Ability to independently scope and deliver analytics projects while collaborating with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams.
• Familiarity with blockchain analytics and fraud trends in crypto.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end risk controls for ATO and scam prevention; scale processes as products/regions expand.
• Define risk metrics, build reporting frameworks, and drive continuous improvement of controls.
• Use data to assess risk; quantify tradeoffs and inform decisions affecting large customer segments.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to develop risk management strategies across Coinbase products.
• Synthesize data findings into narratives and recommendations for senior risk and product leadership.
• Investigate and mitigate fraudulent activity by reviewing alerts on anomalous customer and transaction behavior.
