Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced technical leader to drive the architecture and implementation of the identity platform’s core SSO and identity-broker capabilities. You will influence security, scalability, and long-term platform evolution while mentoring engineers across distributed systems.

The role focuses on design, governance, and cross-team collaboration, with opportunities to shape AI-assisted development practices and cross-squad alignment from early design through delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of distributed-systems leadership in design and delivery.
• Backend services and APIs development with Python (async patterns).
• Experience with identity, authentication, authorization, or security capabilities.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools with security and maintainability in mind.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical direction for core SSO and identity-broker capabilities.
• Lead design and development of secure, scalable SSO services and APIs using Python.
• Define specifications, architecture designs, acceptance criteria, and executable plans.
• Apply AI-assisted development practices across the software lifecycle to ensure quality and security.
• Serve as a technical bridge among engineering, product management, and platform teams.
